EDCO hires La Pine manager

Economic Development for Central Oregon has hired a former Microsoft senior program manager to head up economic development in La Pine and southern Deschutes County, the agency announced on Wednesday.Gerry Albert, who started work at his new post on Monday, will manage the recruitment of new companies and help existing ones grow, according to a news release from EDCO.

Local officials set to meet in Bend

Anticipating a shortage of officials, the Central Oregon Basketball Officials Association is broadening its recruiting efforts in advance of its first meeting of the 2013-14 season.That meeting is set for Wednesday, Nov. 6, at 6:30 p. m. in the library at Mountain View High School in Bend.According to Bob Reichert, commissioner of the COBOA, several of the association’s officials have moved out of the area.
