Mexico Earthquake 2011: Magnitude 5.7 Quake Hits Gulf Coast

MEXICO CITY — A magnitude-5.7 earthquake shook Mexico's Gulf coast Friday. There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake at 7:07 a.m. (8:07 a.m. EST; 1307 GMT) was centered near the town of Acayucan in Veracruz state, about 117 miles (189 kilometers) southeast of the port of Veracruz, and it was felt even in Mexico City, 292 miles (470 kilometers) to the northwest.Read More...
