Stories about Chatroulette's spiraling traffic caused by guys showing their joystick every 10 seconds brought back memories of another site brought down by the same bodily member.
A while back - five or six years ago - cell phones were shipping with built-in cameras and internet connections. The creator of F'd Company, Philip J. Kaplan, had a great idea - create a site that would allow cell phone users to instantly post photos taken with their phones to the internet. The site was mobog.com. In terms of user interaction, the site was kinda similar to Chatroulette - you hop onto the website and instantly meet random strangers via their mobile photo uploads. Kaplan promoted it on his then popular F'd Company website, and it was an instant hit with his users. Traffic grew, and all was going well ... until the Big Wang reared its ugly head (sorry). The number of pics of guys proudly flashing their humble little bro eventually caught up with the site's unique visitors. When the number of unique visitors could be measured by unique wankers, Kaplan threw in the towel and focused his attention on his other creation instead - the ad network AdBrite, which I currently use, and is completely Penis-free.
