GAINESVILLE, Fla. — William Laws Calley Jr., who as an Army lieutenant led the U. Calley died on April 28, according to his Florida death record, which said he had been living in an apartment in Gainesville.

The Denver area will see near-record heat Tuesday as temperatures approach 100 degrees for the third time this summer, according to the National Weather Service.
