KINGSPORT — Dobyns-Bennett and quarterback Zane Whitson got off to a rousing start Friday night at J. Fred Johnson Stadium. Whitson, a 6-foot-1 junior, completed 9 of 18 passes for 145 yards and rushed for another 38 yards to lead the Indians to a 33-13 victory over Tennessee High. Aiding Whitson’s efforts was a two-headed rushing attack powered by Phillip Armitage and Tyler Tesnear, who combined for 95 yards in the first game between the teams since 2016.
