On year’s coldest day, Stamford bus rider steals winter jacket

STAMFORD - Saturday, Jan. 6 was the coldest day of the month in Stamford. The high temperature was only 13 degrees, the low just 3 degrees. The temperature on that day was 22 degrees below average, according to the National Weather Service But one person on a CT Transit Bus that day didn’t need the NWS to tell him it was cold. Very cold. Especially if someone steals your winter coat from the overhead bus rack. Now, Stamford police want to catch the thief who took the coat. On their Facebook page, Stamford police posted a photo of the man who swipped the jacket. The suspect was wearing a warm-looking coat (with a fur-lined hood) , scarf and knit cap. The man - and the coat - were last seen in the area of Veterans Park.
