Politics is a family affair for Alicia Kallen. Her grandfather ran for the Virginia House of Delegates and her father is a former Commonwealth's Attorney for Wise County. Kallen, the Democratic nominee for the 1st District, had toyed with plans to run for office for the last couple of years. But she decided to run for office after attempting to get a teaching job.
