Connolly voiced his concerns over a possible conflict of interest in a Jan. 21 letter to the committee’s Republican chair, James Comer. “This Committee must take immediate action to investigate the grave conflicts of interest Donald Trump carries with him to the Office of the President.

David Balland — the co-founder of French cryptocurrency hardware wallet maker Ledger — was kidnapped and released days later. According to a recent statement from the Paris prosecutor’s office cited by Bloomberg, Balland was abducted from his residence in central France on Jan. 21. His captors then held him until a police investigation secured his release on Jan 22. Balland is not receiving medical attention after his release.

A House Democrat has called out President Donald Trump’s crypto interests, suggesting there may be a conflict of interest with his primary, presidential responsibilities.
