LNG agreement between Hawaiian Electric, Hawaii Gas no longer valid

The non-binding agreement between Hawaiian Electric Co. and Hawaii Gas regarding their respective bulk shipments of liquefied natural gas to the Islands is no longer valid, the head of the state’s largest electric utility confirmed to PBN. The two companies have separate plans to ship in LNG in bulk amounts mainly as a replacement for oil.
