The non-binding agreement between Hawaiian Electric Co. and Hawaii Gas regarding their respective bulk shipments of liquefied natural gas to the Islands is no longer valid, the head of the state’s largest electric utility confirmed to PBN. The two companies have separate plans to ship in LNG in bulk amounts mainly as a replacement for oil. Hawaii Gas is in the process of finishing up negotiations with this as-yet-to-be-named supplier, and is still aiming for the first shipments of LNG for this…
