Nearly two dozen gathered to take part in Saturday morning's free Brew Yoga event in the park adjoining the Neches Brewing Company. Led by instructor Melody Butler, the session blends vinyasha and hatha yoga forms, which alternately focus on flowing with breath through poses and longer held poses. Saturday's event marked the 1-year anniversary of the monthly Brew Yoga event, which continues to grow in participants. Several stayed after the half-hour yoga to get a beer at the pub, which also hosted an onsite sale of items by LuLaRoe in concert with Small Business Saturday sales.

Cyndi Erwin isn't usually a Black Friday shopper - she'd rather shop when she can take her time to browse without the hassle of holiday crowds.
But faced with the overwhelming task of replacing all of their appliances, furniture and belongings, Erwin and her husband, Randy, couldn't turn down the savings and sales, and joined the masses at Parkdale Mall Friday morning.
"We can't pass this up - as long as they can hold it for us," she said.

After the bustle of Black Friday shopping at major malls and chain stores, local business owners are encouraging Southeast Texans to shop and eat at their one-of-a-kind spots for Small Business Saturday.
Area shop owners said it's worth making the trip out today for special offers, unique items and chatting with sales representatives from your community.
"Black Friday is not as big for small town shoppers," said Keely Gore, owner of Silsbee's The Neon Gypsy boutique.
