The Washington Post’s report that President Trump “has gone to extraordinary lengths to conceal details of his conversations with Russian President Vladimir Putin” — including taking away an interpreter’s notes and instructing the person not to discuss what was said even with senior officials of his administration — has raised hackles in Washington. Some have gone so far as to suggest this is evidence that the president is a secret Russian asset.

To be young is to be arrogant. I know this not only from personal experience but also from research.
Next week, I’ll turn 62. An English professor by trade, I’m a reader of books and a watcher of movies by vocation. After a lifetime of examining great stories, I know this much is true: Old people in film and literature aren’t easy to like, unless they’re truly evil or fantastically warped.

I’m just not that aggrieved.
Goodness knows, I’ve tried, doing all I can to convince myself that the world is conspiring against me. I’ve watched Fox News. I’ve read the “men’s rights” thread on Reddit. I’ve even seen a syndicated columnist who told me, “There’s a war on men in America today.”
Oooo, scary. But I’m just not that aggrieved.
