Biden’s biting attacks on Buttigieg’s relatively thin resume mark a new, more aggressive attempt to slow the momentum of the youngest candidate in the Democratic field.

WASHINGTON – The U.S. government began enforcing restrictions Thursday on flavored electronic cigarettes aimed at curbing underage vaping.

Fifteen people were arrested Wednesday and Thursday as the result of a McHenry County Sheriff’s Office felony arrest warrant sweep, according to a news release.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Apprehension Unit headed the effort, which led to the seizure of drugs, one firearm and multiple rounds of ammunition, according to a release the sheriff’s department emailed Friday afternoon.

A McHenry man remained at the McHenry County Jail on Friday after police said he delivered the heroin-fentanyl combination that killed Jessica Hocin of McHenry.

Hocin was found dead June 1 at the McHenry home where she lived with 36-year-old Russell S. Levand, according to a criminal complaint filed with the McHenry County Circuit Clerk’s Office.

A woman rescued Thursday afternoon from a burning home in Algonquin has died, authorities said.

Crews from the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District responded to a house fire about 3 p.m. Thursday on Alice Lane.

Algonquin police Saturday confirmed they are investigating the death of the woman who lived there, 59-year-old Barbara Yerkes. A report from the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office lists Yerkes as having died at 9:03 a.m.

In the wake of the State of the Union address delivered by President Donald Trump last week, U.S. Rep. Sean Casten said he felt compelled to talk about the condition of our democracy at a town hall Saturday afternoon at the Ganek Municipal Center in Algonquin.
