Brooks' Entrance Swings Momentum, Launches Union To Win At Lebanon

LEBANON — Union is a different team when Emili Brooks is on the floor — even when she’s not playing her regular role. Brooks, the reigning Region 2D player of the year who did not play on the back line because she is still recovering from a hand injury, piled up 26 kills to lead the Lady Bears to a dramatic 3-2, come-from-behind win over Lebanon on Tuesday at Charles Long Gym. In the season opener for both squads — and rematch of last year’s Region 2D championship — the Lady Pioneers took advantage of Brooks’ absence at the start over the first two games to score wins of 25-20 and 25-13. For the third set, Union coach Kim Moore changed her rotation and started Brooks on the front line.
