A county audit shows the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office misspent more than $99 million over eight years. The audit says Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s office misallocated the funds for personnel costs. Arpaio termed the money in question a “payroll discrepancy issue,” and he wants to play nice with political foes on the Board of Supervisors.
