Gaelic Football can be described as a mixture of soccer and rugby, although it predates both. Australian Rules football is said to have evolved from Gaelic football. The sport is played on a field approximately 137m long and 82m wide. The goalposts are the same shape as in rugby, with the crossbar lower than rugby and slightly higher than soccer. There are fifteen players per side.
Ladies
Ladies Gaelic football is essentially the same as men's football, and differs only slightly in its rules, with a view to eliminating unneccesary physical contact and in general speeding up the game.
