Democrat Representative Gerald Connolly called on the United States Committee on Oversight and Government Reform to Investigate United States President Donald Trump’s crypto projects.
Connolly voiced his concerns over a possible conflict of interest in a Jan. 21 letter to the committee’s Republican chair, James Comer.
“This Committee must take immediate action to investigate the grave conflicts of interest Donald Trump carries with him to the Office of the President.
David Balland — the co-founder of French cryptocurrency hardware wallet maker Ledger — was kidnapped and released days later.
According to a recent statement from the Paris prosecutor’s office cited by Bloomberg, Balland was abducted from his residence in central France on Jan. 21. His captors then held him until a police investigation secured his release on Jan 22.
Balland is not receiving medical attention after his release.
It’s finally time, the next Pokemon TCG Pocket expansion is here and is building on what both Genetic Apex and Mythical Island brought to the table, with generation four themed cards entering the fray.
After being under wraps for a while, the developers have given us a load of details on this upcoming set, including the release date, cards, and more.
Here, we’ll reveal what that Pokemon TCG Pocket Space-Time Smackdown release date is as well as other nuggets of information we’ve gathered.
Pokemon TCG Pocket Space-Time Smackdown release date and what we know so far
It has been almost three months since Pokemon TCG Pocket launched with set A1, also known as Genetic Apex, and January brings A2 — Space-Time Smackdown — shaking things up dramatically.
If you’re excited for new cards, the exact release date for Space-Time Smackdown is January 30, 2025, meaning you’ll be able to get started on your collection before the month is out.
Meta has refuted claims it has forced users of its social media networks to follow the accounts of President Donald Trump and his new administration.
Some users spoke out, following Monday’s inauguration and change of regime at the White House, to voice their concern that Trump content was appearing on their timeline when they hadn’t previously followed such accounts or made any suggestion that they wanted to.
One accusation was that Meta had artificially increased Team Trump’s follower count on Facebook and Instagram with the underhand move, however, the company has spoken out to allay fears with what appears to be a rather routine adjustment.
At the time of writing, the official POTUS and White House accounts have approximately 11 million followers, respectively.
Meta, the company which owns social media networks Facebook and Instagram, has denied forcing users to follow official accounts belonging to senior figures in the new Trump administration.https://t.co/WMFqDDLPJk

Some users will retain suspicion at Meta’s change of tack
As reported by the BBC, a Meta spokesperson explained how the sudden change isn’t what it seems, that it is just another sign of the change in regime at the White House.
A House Democrat has called out President Donald Trump’s crypto interests, suggesting there may be a conflict of interest with his primary, presidential responsibilities.
The 47th POTUS has barely got his feet under the table in the Oval Office, but already he has signed off on a slew of executive orders, with more than 100 sealed on inauguration day on Monday (20 Jan).
With aspirations to make the United States the crypto capital of the world, Trump is making gains with his World Liberty Financial (WLF) platform and the Official Trump (TRUMP) meme coin, with the latter launched just days before his official return to power.
With the President’s vested crypto interests in mind, Representative Gerald Connolly of Virginia penned a letter to Chairperson James Comer, asking the House Committee for Oversight and Reform to commence an investigation.
Connolly wants the Committee to probe Trump’s projects to determine if there is a conflict of interests.
Reporter: Do you intend to continue selling crypto products that benefit yourself while President?
Trump: I don’t know if it benefited.
Things are changing once again in the Pokemon TCG Pocket world with a brand new set entering the fray post Mythical Island being introduced.
Contrary to that of Mythical Island, it’s a fully fledged set akin to that of Genetic Apex, meaning that there are a bunch more cards to collect.
