Organizers of Tybee Island’s annual Pirate Fest have reported moderate success in implementing the city’s newly adopted festival zone ordinance this year. The event, which was Oct. 8-11, was the first to adopt the use of wristbands and conform to a designated control zone for outdoor alcohol consumption, and for the most part, those in charge say things went smoothly. During a post-event meeting at Tybee Island City Hall on Wednesday, Police Chief Bob Bryson said that despite the crowds, those in attendance were well behaved.
