NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Lottery is celebrating its 15th anniversary of ticket sales this week, announcing that since 2004 the lottery has raised more than $4.85 billion for education programs throughout the Volunteer State. In addition to this billion-dollar landmark, the Tennessee Education Lottery Corporation also announced that since Jan. 20, 2004, the lottery has awarded 1.3 million scholarships and grants to Tennessee students. And on a more recent note, the TELC made a record quarterly transfer of nearly $123 million for education, breaking the previous record set in the third quarter of the 2016 fiscal year. “What an incredible 15 years!” said Rebecca Hargrove, president and CEO of the TELC.
