Grange to consider alcohol restrictions WALTERVILLE — The Walterville Grange will vote on several proposed bylaw changes — including whether to restrict alcohol use at non-Grange functions for renters of the Walterville Community Center — when it meets at the center on Tuesday. The meeting starts at 7:30 p.m.

Incidents FRIDAY, JULY 19 Fight: 10:29 p.m., 3100 block Gateway Street. Callers said two men were fighting near a convenience store. Police made an arrest. Assault: 10:28 p.m., 600 block 54th Street. Police made an arrest after a caller said a dispute involving a group of teens had turned physical.

 

Miller athletes compete

The 2Rivers Track Club completed its summer season at the 2013 USATF National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships this past weekend. A trio of recent Springfield High graduates — Jesse Goodier, Jonathan Emerald and Kayla Klabo — made the trip to Greensboro, N.C.

Women claim sex abuse by pastor

EDITOR’S NOTE: In Case You Missed It is a digest of recent Register-Guard articles of interest to Springfield readers. Two Lane County women are suing a Springfield church for more than $7 million each, alleging they were abused hundreds of times by a youth pastor in the 1970s.
