OUR OPINION: Technology model changing classrooms across state

The advances of modern technology have truly changed the educational landscape in Mississippi over the last decade by offering educators more tools than ever before right at their fingertips to help prepare students for a global workforce.
One of the most significant and visible changes in just the last few years is the notable absence of textbooks in many classrooms across our state.

Felonies
The following people were booked into the Lee County-Tupelo Adult Jail in connection with felony charges ending Monday at 11 a.m.
• Derrick Copeland, 34, of Tupelo, was arrested by the Tupelo Police Department, possession of a Schedule II drug.
• Daniel Duvall, 35, of Baldwyn, was arrested by the Lee County sheriff’s Office, DUI-third.

Elvis Presley Birthplace reschedules lake event

TUPELO – The Elvis Presley Birthplace and Museum will host a ceremony at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.
The free event, which had been postponed due to weather, will highlight work done on the lake located on the backside of the grounds. Everyone is invited.
