Friends, colleagues honor retiring Lee County Administrator Thompson

By Caleb Bedillion Daily Journal TUPELO – A straight shooter with an eye always on the details – that’s how friends and colleagues described retiring Lee County Administrator Sean Thompson during a reception Monday afternoon. Thompson, 45, has held the county’s top administrative job since June 2008, and formally steps away from his job at the end of this week. He announced earlier this month that he’s taking early retirement for reasons related to his health. Thompson suffered a stroke in June 2015. District 1 Supervisor Phil Morgan offered a few brief remarks during Monday’s reception before turning the event over to informal conversation. “On behalf of the Board of Supervisors, we appreciate your services to Lee County,” said Morgan. Thompson was only Lee County’s second chief administrator.
