Michigan Theater to launch Monday Funnies film series

With the last days of summer upon us, and the school year about to commence, who couldn't use a weekly pick-me-up?

The Michigan Theater (603 E. Liberty St. in Ann Arbor) will oblige, with a new weekly film series, the Monday Funnies, showcasing classic comedy films from September through December at 7 p.m.

 

Counterfeit small bills regularly surfacing in Ypsilanti businesses

Counterfeit money is being passed around Ypsilanti and Ypsilanti Township.

And while authorities and businesses say it isn’t a totally uncommon occurrence for the area, the number of bills discovered has increased over the past month and the denominations are smaller than what has typically been found in the past.

University of Michigan's Lawyers Club opens to students after $39M renovation

At one point during the past year, the University of Michigan Lawyers Club was nothing but a shell.

That's because construction crews had to completely gut the 1920s-era historic building in order to construct a modern interior during the residence hall's yearlong $39 million renovation. Demolition took five and a half months.
