Who says you can't go home again? Not that Trey Burke or Tim Hardaway Jr. have been gone for very long, but a lot has happened since they left Michigan. Mainly that they both were selected in the first round of the 2013 NBA Draft. The two were on hand at the M-Den in Ann Arbor on Saturday, along with former Michigan captain Josh Bartelstein, signing autographs.

Grease buildup blamed for stove fire in Ypsilanti Township home

A build up of grease near a burner that was turned on is being blamed for a stove fire in Ypsilanti Township Friday evening.

The fire occurred at 1530 Ecorse Road just before 7 p.m. When the Ypsilanti Township Fire Department arrived at the home, a resident had used a fire extinguisher to put out the fire. The house was filled with smoke, and the stove was damaged as well as the wall behind it and the cabinets above it.

 

Event in Pittsfield Township looks to 'Stuff a Blue Goose' with donated school supplies

Walmart in Pittsfield Township is the place to be Sunday between noon-4 p.m. to "Stuff a Blue Goose."

That's the nickname for the Michigan State Police patrol cars, and one of them will be parked by the Walmart at 7000 W. Michigan Avenue (near State Road) during those hours for the purpose of receiving donated school supplies.

1/24 4th Marine Division to reunite Sunday in Ypsilanti Township

The Marines will be descending on the UAW Union Hall in Ypsilanti Township Sunday. Their mission: a reunion.

Detroit is the home of the 1st Battalion, 24th Marines, which includes companies from Detroit, Lansing, Saginaw, Grand Rapids and Perrysburg, Ohio. Sunday's event will honor the marines, and will take place at UAW Local 898 Union Hall on Textile Road in Ypsilanti Township.

 

Ypsilanti and Owosso LA Insurance agencies suspended pending hearing

The Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services has suspended the licenses of three Michigan LA Insurance agencies, including two in Ypsilanti, effective immediately.
