Washington man faces sex charges

A former Walla Walla University employee is facing charges of sexual abuse and sex with a girl under 14 years of age in Deschutes County.Darius Allister Fleck, 31, of Walla Walla, Wash., was indicted by a county grand jury July 11 on four counts of first-degree sexual abuse and two counts of second-degree unlawful sexual penetration, according to Deschutes County court records.

Armed man robs Bend restaurant

Bend Police officers were looking Monday night for a man who robbed a restaurant in north Bend.Armed with a handgun, the man robbed the Taco Del Mar at the Cascade Village Shopping Center around 6:35 p. m., said Bend Police Sgt. Kurt Koester. He said the man is 6 feet tall, white with black facial hair and was last seen wearing a red baseball cap.

 

3 teens arrested in auto break-ins

Police arrested three Bend teens Saturday on suspicion of breaking into cars and a home under construction in northeast Bend.Tanner William Chaney, 19, was arrested along with two 15-year-old boys, according to the Bend Police Department.Chaney was given a conditional release from Deschutes County jail Monday night.

 

ATV rider lost for 8 hours

A Bend man became separated from a group of all-terrain vehicle riders Saturday southeast of town and was lost for about eight hours.Julio Medellin, 33, was found in the East Fort Rock Off-Highway Vehicle Trails System by his friends at about 11:30 p. m., according to the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office. He was in good condition although cold. He was wearing a T-shirt and jeans, didn’t have any food or water and was down to a half tank of gas when he went missing shortly after 3:30 p.m.
