The state carpenter-and-millwrights union has pulled its endorsement of state Senate candidate Peter Lucido, although Lucido claims he never received one from the organization.The Michigan Regional Council of Carpenters and Millwrights said in a news release Thursday it withdrew its endorsement of Lucido, a Republican state representative from Shelby Township who is running for State Senate, because of his favorable vote earlier this month to repeal Michigan's prevailing wage law, which requires union scale wages on public construction projects.

Police are looking for witnesses to a crash that took place at the intersection of 23 Mile Road and Van Dyke Avenue at approximately 6 p.m. Thursday. According to Shelby Township Police Chief Robert Shelide, a police car with its emergency equipment activated was responding to a call regarding a suicidal person armed with a knife when it was hit by another vehicle at the intersection.
