A girl, 7, was killed early Sunday morning after being struck by a vehicle on I-94, after her father had been involved in a traffic crash, the Michigan State Police reported. Federal judge denies ex-Warren Council president's request to enter halfway house

A federal judge has refused a request by former immigration attorney and ex-Warren City Council president Charles Busse to be allowed to finish his prison sentence in a halfway house in metropolitan Detroit.In a two-sentence ruling, U.S. District Judge Avern Cohn said Busse's motion is denied.

 

Ground transportation changes coming to Metro Airport, along with construction

Starting July 13, SMART and AirRide customers traveling to and from the McNamara Terminal will be dropped off and picked up on the departures level of the terminal.SMART and AirRide buses will stop on the north end (near door No. 1).According to airport officials, the change is expected to be more convenient for customers using municipal transportation and reduce traffic in the Ground Transportation Center.

 

Romeo Plank Road intersection at Hall Road back open

Construction workers early Sunday removed road barricades from the intersection of Romeo Plank and Hall roads in Clinton and Macomb townships, but will keep the roadblocks handy for another shutdown later this month.The Michigan Department of Transportation closed the Romeo Plank portion of the intersection July 5 for 10 days to allow crews to safely work through the area to pave the left lanes.
