MCC to offer Dassault Systemes certifications

Macomb Community College has been designated as a certified product lifecycle management (PLM) education partner and certification center by Dassault Systemes and will offer courses to help students develop expertise on the latest Dassault Systemes PLM solutions beginning in July. Through the college's Michigan Technical Education Center (M-TEC) in Warren, MCC will offer certified instructor-led classroom training and online training and will also facilitate blended learning solutions for individuals and companies.

 

'Junior detectives' complete Warren police program

It wasn't "CSI Warren" but more than two dozen children in the city got a rare and up-close look at police work during a 4-week program that concluded recently.The 25 enthusiastic students in grades 4-6 who participated in the Warren Police Department Junior Detective Program were eager to learn about aspects of law enforcement and the duties performed by officers.

"I've had many nurse executives tell me that Macomb graduates are prepared to hit the ground running when they hire them," said Bernadette Pieczynski, acting dean of health and public services at MCC.

Oakland A's rally from 6 down to beat Detroit Tigers 9-7

DETROIT >> Jed Lowrie drove in the tiebreaking run in the top of the ninth inning for a second straight game, and the Oakland Athletics rallied from six runs down to beat Detroit 9-7 on Tuesday night, handing the Tigers their seventh straight loss.Detroit led 6-0 after three innings, but Oakland came back to tie it at 7-all in the seventh.

 

Bettman, Brodeur, O'Ree top Hockey Hall of Fame class

NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman, pioneering black player Willie O'Ree and Martin Brodeur, the league's leader in wins among goaltenders, top the latest class for the Hockey Hall of Fame announced on Tuesday.Bettman has been commissioner since 1993, during which time the NHL has expanded its footprint across North America and increased from 24 to 31 teams.

 

Beilein: Offer from Pistons would have been tough decision
