NYSERDA now can sell Malta energy park piecemeal

ALBANY — State officials are now looking at selling off a Malta energy business park in pieces instead of trying to find a buyer for the entire 280-site.The Saratoga Technology + Energy Park (STEP) was created as a way for the state to turn a former federally operated weapons testing site into a high-tech business park geared toward renewable energy and semiconductor technologies. It is owned by the state Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), which prior to the 1970s was known as the New York State Atomic and Space Development Authority.

 

Rensselaer man charged with federal drug, weapons offenses

A Rensselaer man was indicted Wednesday on federal drug and weapons charges.Darrell Chapman, 37, was charged with conspiring to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine and 100 grams or more of heroin from November 2016 to Oct. 18, 2017, the U.S. Attorney's office said in a news release.

2 killed in Corinth crash

CORINTH -- Two people in their 20s were killed Wednesday when the car they were traveling in crashed on Angel Road in the town of Corinth, Saratoga County sheriff's deputies said.The victims were Genessa Marie Coon, 23, of 377 Angel Road #64, Corinth, and Cody M. Fitzpatrick, 21, of 19 Pauline St., Whitehall.
