“Despicable Me,” Universal’s formal entrance into the animated feature business, was a huge No. 1 at the North American box office over the weekend with an estimated $60.1 million. Senh: I was expecting a hit, but not this big of a hit. It does have an interesting and original premise and having Steve Carell voice the title character helps. Now Universal Pictures is officially in the animation game.
