Consumer Reports Still Won't Back New iPhone

Phone calls might drop, but not complaints about problems with iPhone reception. Apple announced Friday that the company will discontinue its free case program at the end of September, a program that addressed reception issues with the new iPhone 4. Yet those reception issues haven't been fixed, Consumer Reports

Apple will host a press conference to discuss the iPhone 4, said a company representative. Though no further details were provided, we assume that the conference will address concerns that the iPhone 4's antenna design causes increased dropped calls.

Senh: I wonder if they'll finally admit that the antenna was faulty and do a recall. There previous two excuses aren't cutting it (software bug and holding the phone differently). They're having a press conference, so maybe they'll finally admit the truth. This phone is just cursed. First, there were all those leaks, and now this. Google must be smiling.

A lawsuit was filed by Ward & Ward, PLLC and Charles A. Gilman, LLC. on behalf of two plaintiffs who in total purchased four iPhone 4's. The suit alleges that AT&T and Apple were willful, wanton, malicious, oppressive and deceived consumers of material facts about certain performance issues of the iPhone 4.
