Boston Celtics star point guard Rajon Rondo has torn his anterior cruciate ligament and will miss the rest of the season. The team made the announcement during Sunday's game against the Miami Heat. The Celtics collected their biggest win of the season today, but because of events earlier in the afternoon, the victory was rather empty.

Doc, Celtics Focused On Heat - NBA.com (blog)

No one can accuse Doc Rivers of being anything other than a pragmatist. It makes no sense for the coach of the Boston Celtics to worry himself with the Los Angeles Lakers and what goes on in the Western Conference when Rivers and his crew have to contend with the reigning NBA champion Miami Heat in their own conference.

Allen chooses to sign with Miami Heat

Ray Allen

Ray Allen will take less money for a chance at anotherNBA championship. Allen told the Miami Heat on Friday night that he intends to accept their contractoffer and leave Boston after five seasons, even though the Celtics could pay him about twice as much as the reigning NBA champions will be able to next season. Miami could only offer Allen the mini mid-level, worth about $3 million a year.

Senh: I'm surprised. He's taking less money to go for another championship ring. The Heat are stacked. If they get Marcus Camby too, it's over for everyone.

NBA Finals: OKC, You Let Me Down

NBA Champions: Lebron James & Dwayne Wade

The Miami Heat's win over the Boston Celtics to reach the NBA finals has drawn the highest preliminary television rating for an NBA playoff game on cable since records started being kept in 2003.

Senh: Everyone wanted to see the Heat fall. It's bad they didn't.

NBA Finals: I Was Rooting for Old Fart vs. Old Fart

I know it would probably be the most boring NBA Finals ever, but I was kinda rooting for the old farts - San Antonio Spurs and Boston Celtics. I wouldn’t mind if either wins another title, especially the Boston Celtics. I like these teams because there aren’t anyone with a super-huge ego, except for maybe Paul Pierce - but compared to Lebron James, it’s pretty small.
