Family and community members are rallying around a South Colonie teen who was burned over 95 percent of his body in a horrific crash that police allege was caused by a friend who was impaired by drugs. Niko D. Dinovo, 16, remained in critical condition at Westchester Medical Center Sunday, with 50 to 60 family members and friends staying in the hospital's waiting rooms for support, said close family friend John Gilchrist. Gilchrist said it's still "touch and go" but family and friends are hopeful because the medical staff said the Colonie Central student's internal organs are functioning well. Dinovo was a passenger in a 2006 BMW being driven by 18-year-old Michael Carr when the vehicle went off the road around 11 p.m.
