State Proposes Rates For New Commuter Railroad

HARTFORD - A commuter railroad from New Haven to Springfield, Massachusetts is set to open next year — the first new rail line in Connecticut in decades. A proposed rate schedule released this week for the CTrail Hartford line shows a one-way trip from New Haven to Springfield will cost $12.75, and $8 from New Haven to Hartford. When Hartford Line service begins in 2018, CTrail and Amtrak will offer 17 week day round trips beginning in 2018, with 12 continuing on to Springfield.
