The rocket scientists, physicists, airmen and officers at Schriever Air Force Base had plenty to celebrate Wednesday. They had a successful launch of a Global Positioning System satellite, which rocketed to orbit at 9:36 a.m. and deployed its solar arrays by 3 p.m. under control of Schriever airmen. They also celebrated 20 years of GPS guiding the globe, thanks to airmen in Colorado Springs who ensure the satellite signals reach billions of users.
