TORONTO – Sometimes it takes a breakout performance to open a window into an unknown aspect of a player. Sometimes all it takes is a haircut. On that latter count, Tyler Herro arguably stands as Exhibit A. Having played most of his Heat career with a considerable tuft of hair as his preferred look, it turns out the sixth-year Miami Heat guard was hiding a window into his past. Now it is noticeable, that scar on the left side of his buzzcut that has left an empty line above his ear. And, no, not a style point, not something cut into his coif by the style-conscious scorer. “I cracked my head open when I was little,” Herro revealed. So during a fight with his brothers? Fighting through a screen during his formative basketball years? Something particularly badass? “It was playing football in my house,” Herro said.
