The brakes have been applied to a plan to build a 4.8-mile linear park in the shadow of the Truman Parkway following disagreements between the city of Savannah and Chatham County.Though the county has taken the lead in sponsoring the Truman Linear Park Trail project, city and county officials apparently cannot agree on who should be responsible for maintaining the park once it’s completed.A public meeting, which was advertised three weeks ago and scheduled for today, was cancelled last Thursday without an explanation, leaving residents who were interested in the project scratching their heads.Initially, according to county officials, the city agreed to maintain the planned multi-use trail.
