Eighth-seeded Michael Venus outlasted qualifier Dimitar Kutrovsky of Bulgaria 7-6 (4), 1-6, 6-3 Sunday to win the Recoating West Inc. USTA Men's $15,000 Professional Tennis Tournament at Del Oro High School in Loomis. Venus, a 22-year-old New Zealand native who trains in Bradenton, Fla., broke Kutrovsky's serve to lead 5-3 in the third set and served out the match in the players' first meeting. Kutrovsky, an NCAA singles quarterfinalist in Athens, Ga., two weeks ago as a Texas senior, was playing in his seventh match of the tournament in his professional debut.
