Bookmark or Share- Tandem axle trailer - brakes on 1 axle vs brakes on both?Wherever you live, trailers with brakes on one axle are almost certain as common as men with two nipples, so I can't ever imagine a situation where whether they are legal or not would matter. But for safety it's probably better to have two. The way trailer brakes are (shitty), having two doubles your chance of having one working when you need it.
- Are 5th Wheels and Goosenecks the same in Ca? - Pirate 4x4I now have a 5th wheel with a gooseneck conversion and I was researching the Ca DMV website. I can't find anything that seperates the two types of trailers. I just want to make sure I'm legal to tow. So far it looks like I need a RV endorsement. I'm also looking into getting my "Doubles Endorsement".
- Goosneck/5th tow dolly... Legal? Functional? Availability?Thats weird that it would be considered doubles, considering it would act exactly like a wagon style pull trailer. Check out the first link posted by MattS. The only weight the hitch on the tow vehicle would see would be the towbar its self. The towbar is hinged to allow it to swing up and down.
