A man has been charged with murder after police found him hiding near the scene of a fatal shooting in Commerce City last week.
Fabian Benitez, 30, was charged with first-degree murder by the 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, according to a news release.
Police said Benitez was discovered hiding near East 62nd Avenue and Jasmine Court, where a person was found shot to death in a car early Sunday morning.
Benitez is being held at the Adams County Detention Facility.

Yujin Choi falsely accused Dan Hines, a criminal investigator in the district attorney’s office, of sexually harassing her, according to the Tuesday ruling from the Office of Presiding Disciplinary Judge, which handles professional discipline for Colorado attorneys.
