GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Florida running back Adam Lane is transferring seven months after earning most valuable player honors at the Birmingham Bowl.Coach Jim McElwain made the announcement Sunday, saying the sophomore from Winter Haven is dealing with family issues and wants to be closer to home."Family comes first in this program, and we will grant him his release and we will do everything we can to help him," McElwain said.The 5-foot-7, 226-pound Lane ran 24 times for 181 yards and a touchdown last season.
