SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) -- Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn has fired an aide to former Gov. Rod Blagojevich who was convicted for refusing to testify about a Puerto Rican separatist group. Steven Guerra once earned $120,000 a year as Blagojevich's deputy chief of staff for community services. Quinn spokesman Robert Reed says the governor wants to go in another direction. Blagojevich refused to explain Guerra's hiring after the Chicago Sun-Times revealed the aide's conviction in 2007.
