In a bid to accelerate affordable housing development in Colorado, Gov. Jared Polis signed an executive order Monday that expedites loan and grant approval processes while directing a suite of state agencies to prioritize programs to help prepare the state for years of coming population growth. The order sets out 10 “strategic growth goals” for Colorado in the coming years, a nod both to the state’s current housing shortage and to its projected needs.
