At least 413 flights were canceled or delayed Tuesday morning at Denver International Airport as snow fell across Colorado. National Weather Service meteorologists said 1 1/2 inches of snow stacked up at the Denver International Airport and another 2 to 5 inches is expected by 11 p.m. As of 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, 399 flights at DIA had been delayed and 14 were canceled, according to data from flight tracking software FlightAware. Southwest delayed the most flights Tuesday morning at 122 and 115 United flights failed to leave the gate on time.

PARIS — Jean-Marie Le Pen, the founder of France’s far-right National Front who was known for fiery rhetoric against immigration and multiculturalism that earned him both staunch supporters and widespread condemnation, died Tuesday. He was 96. A polarizing figure in French politics, Le Pen was convicted numerous times of antisemitism, discrimination and inciting racial violence.

Snow continues to fall across Colorado on Tuesday and forecasters said that the metro area could see several more inches accumulate before the storm wraps up. Light to moderate snow will continue across the Interstate 25 Corridor, Denver area and Eastern Plains for several hours Tuesday morning, according to the National Weather Service. Forecasters said the snow is expected to weaken around 9 a.m.

Seven-year-old Abdullahi Shongolo fled the Somali civil war in 1992, walking through dense African jungle for two weeks. He encountered hyenas, lions and violent militias before reaching a Kenyan refugee camp. During the twelve years he and his nine siblings lived in the camp, he learned enough English to plead his family’s case to become refugees eligible to resettle in the United States. Shongolo and his family arrived in Denver in 2004. Twenty years later, Shongolo runs the register at the international grocery store he owns in Denver, blocks away from the dwelling where he and his family first got their start in America.
