Various public records indicate the internet retailing giant plans a four-story, 2.56 million-square-foot facility at 9201 S Portland Ave. The property is near Will Rogers World Airport, in the Lariat Landing development. Ward 2 Councilman Ed Shadid asked whether Amazon could qualify for incentives under the city's Strategic Investment Program (SIP). Funded by voter-approved bonds, the program focuses on attracting facilities operated by companies in areas including logistics, warehousing and distribution. Amazon fulfillment centers being developed around the country stock consumer products and ship them in response to orders, for quick delivery.
