Michael J. Fox, the Watervliet man accused of murdering his friend and neighbor, Brandon T. Sherwin, pleaded not guilty Monday in Albany County Supreme Court. Fox, 49, wore a mustache and close-cropped hair and appeared composed compared to the mug shot taken after his arrest in January. Fox is charged with second-degree murder and second-degree attempted murder for the shooting and stabbing death of Sherwin, 29, the son of retired NFL player Tim Sherwin. An emotional Anna Rozell sat in the courtroom at Fox's arraignment. Rozell said Fox dragged her into the hallway and pushed her upstairs to his second-floor apartment. According to documents filed at Watervliet City Court, Sherwin was shot in the upper torso and stabbed multiple times.
