It is an archipelago in the Indian Ocean, 25–50 km (16–31 mi) off the coast of the African mainland, and consists of many small islands and two large ones: Unguja (the main island, referred to informally as Zanzibar) and Pemba Island. The capital is Zanzibar City, located on the island of Unguja.

Zanzibar is a beautiful set of islands. Stone Town (in Zanzibar City) is a UNESCO World Heritage site, with plenty of beautiful sites to visit. Other islands with beautiful beaches, snorkelling, giant tortoises and peacocks are a short boat ride away. On the culinary side, plenty of seafood and spices are available.
