Bookmark or Share- From Yellowstone to The Redwood Forrest - best way to go...Last year we did a road trip from the SF Bay Area to Yellowstone, then looped through Oregon and back to SF. We drove from I84 from Idaho Falls, ID to Baker City, OR. We spent the night at Baker City at the Geiser Grand Hotel. Geiser Grand: The Geiser Grand is a historic hotel and purported to be haunted.
- Seattle to Yellowstone - Winter driving - RoadTrip America3. Drive 27th morning to Yellowstone and stay 27 and 28th night ( 164 miles via I 191 or 147 miles via I 287. We were reading that 287 is a secondary highway so taking 191 maybe better even though it is slightly longer) 4. Leave 29th morning from Yellowstone and spend the night at Missoula MT(281 miles via 191 and I90) 5.

Make the journey at dawn or dusk and it’s one of the best places in the park to spot wolves, bears and other predators; bison and elk can usually be seen at any time.

Right now I am looking at leaving the Detroit area and heading to South Dakota via HWY 90. We want to make stops in Badlands, Black Hills, and at Mt. Rushmore for sure. Then on into Yellowstone and the Tetons.
