- I can't open Firefox, it says couldn't load xpcom. Whats wrong?I had the same problem. Did a bunch of Windows Vista updates on about 8/16/13. After restarting etc, whenever I tried to start Firefox, I got "Couldn't load XPCOM" and no browser. Also my Windows appearance and colors and sizing were all messed up. THANKS Bill Gates!
- On startup Firefox says "couldn't load XPCOM" - Mozilla SupportI had the same problem. I think it has to do with the folder where Mozilla writes and searchs for XPCOM.dll. The solution is quite simple: When the instalator ask you for the folder you enter C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\ instead of C:\Arquivos de programas\mozilla Firef
- Couldn't load XPCOM | Firefox Support Forum | Mozilla SupportI noticed an unfamiliar icon on my desktop so I restored my computer to last restore point. Afterwards, when trying to open a Firefox window, I received the "Couldn't load XPCOM" message. I rebooted but still received the same message. So I did an UNDO on the restore and Firefox is working fine again.
