Bookmark or Share- Gone but not forgotten in Jacksonville! (Springfield, Starke: how much ...I remember going to Keys on REALLY cold days and you would warm up fast. Keys used to be available in cans at Winn Dixie and Food Lion. I recall seeing it in both of those places, but it has been a while since I have looked for it. And there was a really GREAT Chinese restaurant where the BellSouth building is...King Woo if I remember correctly.
- Remember these restaurants that used to be on LI? (Hempstead: 2014 ...In the early 1960s on Sunrise Hwy somewhere between Bohemia and Oakdale there was a drive in hamburger stand called Woodys.
- Old Grocery Chains (Cincinnati, Dayton, Springfield: real estate ...The original store was demolished by a tornado about 2 years before we moved here, and they rebuilt it. Again, loved that store. Don't understand some of the comments they were dirty. To me they were the premier grocery operation in the city. But all things do change. When they sold out to Winn-Dixie, the handwriting was on the wall.

- What are prices like at Winn-Dixie compared to let's say Wal-Mart or ...Hi and Welcome to Orlando. Winn Dixie has good prices but I have found that Wal Mart is a little cheaper. The bad thing is though, Wal mart is always so busy and has very long lines. I always check the ads in the paper. Albertsons had buy steak get two free last week. Winn Dixie and Publix usually have buy one get one free on a lot of items.
